Lalitha Fertility & Gynec Care
Dr. Palaparthi Lalitha Devi
I am an obstetrician and gynaecologist with a practice in fertility, in KPHB, Kukatpally. I trained in obstetrics and gynaecology at JIPMER, Puducherry, and I see my patients myself, in the evenings, in Telugu, English, Hindi or Tamil.
The short version
I am a gynaecologist with a practice in fertility. I see women in Kukatpally for the things that are hard to talk about: not being able to conceive, periods that have gone wrong, a pregnancy that is just beginning or one that has ended.
Whatever you have come with, the first visit is a conversation. You will be examined, you will be told what was found, and you will not be pushed toward anything.
Training
Where I trained
I did my MBBS at Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam, finishing in 2016. My MS in Obstetrics and Gynaecology was at JIPMER, Puducherry, completed in 2021. I hold the DNB in the same specialty.
I am registered with the Telangana State Medical Council, number 30691.
How I work
Most of what I do is listening and then explaining.
A fertility problem, a PCOS diagnosis, a scan report from somewhere else: each comes with a story, and the story usually holds the answer. I ask a lot of questions on the first visit. I examine. I order the tests that will change the plan and not the ones that will not. And then I explain, in whichever of Telugu, English, Hindi or Tamil you think in, what was found and what it means for you, until it makes sense.
Three things I will not do. I will not judge you: not for your age, your weight, an earlier pregnancy, or anything you tried before you came to me. I will not give you a percentage before I know your own numbers, because it would be made up. And I will not frighten you into a treatment. A consultation with me is allowed to end with "let us wait and see", and it is allowed to end with "let us not wait". My job is to tell you which, and why.
Fertility
Fertility, one step at a time
Fertility treatment has an order, and the order matters. The simplest thing that could work comes first: timing, correcting a thyroid or a prolactin level, a modest change in weight, tablets to help an egg release. Then, if the tubes are open and the sperm count allows it, IUI. Then, and only when it is the right answer, IVF.
Not every couple needs IVF. We begin with the simpler steps. Some do need it, and for them it is better started early than late. Either way you will know where you stand.
IVF is planned and followed up here, with her as your doctor throughout. The laboratory stages, egg collection and embryo transfer, are done at a registered ART centre agreed with you before anything begins.
